Home Theaters

Lights, Camera, Action... Home Theaters, with their stadium seating, big-screen views, and surrounding sound, home theaters would seem to belong to the realm of the rich and famous. But the high-end indulgence of home theaters is fast becoming a middle-class must-have. Get a movie-ready room with wiring, lighting, and architectural details all this and more with a home theater system. Have the feeling of a real movie theater by adding a wet bar with a sink and refrigerator. Theater rooms should have only one door, and, ideally, no windows, to block exterior light and sound. The theater room should be isolated acoustically to prevent sound from traveling to other areas of the house.

A home theater specialist will be able to assist you with a multiple-speaker system, adding a DVD player to your existing television and VCR, custom installation, creating a theater room and entertainment system with home theater technology, and creating the Hollywood experience at home.

Some ideas to consider when planning to add a home theater to your home is the placement within the floor plan. While some will give the home theater its own wing, others transform a first-floor family room, a bonus room above the garage, or a portion of a walk-out basement for their home theater. Most people want the home theater accessible from where they are entertaining which can be a problem when it is way back in the corner of the basement.

Make sure you understand how to work your home theater after it is installed. Have your home theater specialist explain how everything works and to demonstrate the home theaters system features from the TV to the VCR, DVD, Cable, and/or satellite.
